Beginning September 1, Smoke Rise will roll out the official Safety policy. It has been written by the Safety Plan Team that was created and formed by the Children’s Committee and the Risk Management Committee. The policy will be approved by the Children’s Committee and presented to the deacons and administrative Council at their August meetings.
Our new policy is one more step that we are taking at Smoke Rise Baptist Church to keep the most vulnerable in our community safe. Other efforts to keep our children, teens, and friends with special needs safe have been to create a new suite for our children to worship, learn, and play as well as to build a playground that is open and welcoming to individuals of all abilities.
In addition, September 8-10, we will be hosting a Sexuality Education, Safety, and Parenting Seminar for parents, grandparents, and educators as part of our goal to equip our entire community with information and tools to protect the most vulnerable among us.
