Thank you for your continued generosity. Giving was up against recent historical trends through the first fiscal quarter. Although giving is generally lower during the summer, we usually catch up as normal schedules return. The Finance Committee is grateful for the continued faithfulness of so many and especially for those who are making regular, recurring gifts to the church.
The Finance Committee continues to review expenses and spending in order to find ways to save. With the exception of a few line items where we spent more than expected through the year to date, our spending remains in budget and is on track to meet budget across most categories. As we finish summer and move into a new season of Wednesday activities and worship in a renewed sanctuary, let us continue to give generously and cheerfully to our church.
German church reformer and theologian Martin Luther once said, “I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all. But whatever I have placed in God’s hands, that I still possess.” Scripture teaches that everything we have is a gift from God who is the giver of life. When we give to the church, may we do so with the knowledge that
God is always sharing everything with us. Thank you again for all that you do as part of our Smoke Rise family of faith.
