Jokes on the porch in a rocking chair after a hard day’s work. Creating relationships with local clients. Brunswick stew. Learning the difference between an Old Regular Baptist and a Regular Baptist. Finding your way through the holler. Bill Blanton and a group of seven men worked at God Appalachian Partnership. The men replaced windows in a trailer used to house ministry teams. They laid flooring in an education building on the Elk Ridge site. The Elk Ridge site was purchased several years ago with money donated to the Smoke Rise Hope Offering. This site just received its water connection which will allow the rest of the property to be developed. The men also drove a truck full of donations of furniture that was sold by the GAP to clients in the community. Each week the GAP provides food distribution and during this time our men served a meal to the clients after they shopped.
This trip even had a special visit from Will Chandler who is on football scholarship at Pikeville University near the GAP.
