We’re off to a great a start. We had a wonderful kickoff celebration on Palm Sunday including a performance from the Children’s Choir and a breakfast served by the youth and Discovery Sunday School Class. A total of 201 pledges have been received adding up to $1,256,286 toward our goal of $1,880,000. We have taken a great stride forward, but we still have a few more steps to go.
Our church family has enthusiastically embraced the opportunities that the Refresh campaign enables. The playground, picnic pavilions, and ballfields will be a gateway to our surrounding community. Updated space around the buildings will show our commitment to young families and our desire to be part of the community. I am also grateful that we can build on the foundation and investment of those that have come before us. The enhancements, upgrades, and updates will equip us for continued outreach to our community. We are also assisting in the restoration and renewal of our broader community by supporting the Friends of Refugees in the construction of the Jolly Avenue Development Center.
My hope is that the investment we make today will help the Smoke Rise Baptist Church community minister to our surrounding community for generations to come. Many sacrifices have been made over the years for Smoke Rise to be the church it is today. Let us continue this tradition of sacrifice and giving as we lean into the future and build on that foundation with a shared vision, surpassing what any one of us can imagine independently.
If you have not pledged, we ask you to prayerfully consider the part God is calling you to play in our Refresh Capital Campaign. Pledge cards are available in the church office and may be returned to the church office or placed in the offering plate.
