Smoke Rise is hosting the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of GA Spring General Assembly on April 15-16, 2016. The theme is When the Sand Castle Crumbles. “Why is my church dying and what can I do about it?” The keynote speaker for Friday night will be Jim Somerville, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia. Jim has been instrumental in leading First Baptist, Richmond, from being a “cruise ship” church to becoming a “mission trip” church, and he will be sharing his church’s experiences with this transformation. In addition to challenging and meaningful worship led by Danny Vancil, there will be a wide variety of thought and action provoking breakout sessions and ministry network gatherings.
Reservations for meals may be made using the Spring General Assembly online registration form available at http://tinyurl.com/gm8f2a4. Friday dinner $12.00, Saturday breakfast $8.00 and Saturday lunch $10.00. You can also buy a ticket at the door.
We need volunteers to help with registration, directional assistance in the parking lot, meal service and ushers for worship. Please see Kathy Dobbins for the list of times.
