Pastor Chris’ Bible Study
Martin Luther wrote, “St. James’ epistle is really an epistle of straw…for it has nothing of the nature of the gospel about it.” Luther (and many others) believed that the Book of James had too much emphasis on good works and left too little room for grace. In this study, we will explore together this controversial little letter and draw our own conclusions. Along the way, I believe we will discover a new perspective on this journey called faith.

What the Bible Teaches About the Afterlife
Most every person, especially Christians, have asked the question, “What happens after death?” What is heaven like, what is hell and where is it? The Bible says more about heaven that it does about hell. Jesus centers his teachings on this present life and speaks sparingly about the afterlife. This study will focus on the biblical materials starting with the Old Testament and the Jewish view of afterlife. Next, the teachings of John, Paul and Matthew will be examined. Led by R. Page Fulgham.
