On behalf of the Strategic Vision Committee, I want to thank everyone who participated in the listening session on November 15th. We had an excellent turnout (20 tables!), and we received a great deal of data regarding what is important to the church, and where we need to consider focusing our resources and energy in the future.
Here is what will happen next: The committee will review and categorize the information and begin the process of determining what further questions need to be asked or clarified. Then, beginning in January and going throughout the winter and spring, we will host listening sessions in every adult and youth Sunday School class. We will also hold sessions with various groups in the church, such as committees, church staff, the choir, deacons, circles, etc. Included will be sessions with external partners and community organizations. In late spring, we will hold another church-wide listening session, where we will report what we are learning as well as explore new questions which have emerged.
This process will continue until we have gathered the information needed to make sound recommendations to the congregation regarding our future together.
Again, thanks to all who participated in our first listening session.
