Marsha Winston, Assistant Director of Smoke Rise Baptist Weekday School retired in December. After 13 years of dedicated service to the Weekday School she will be missed.
Marsha leaves a great legacy at the Weekday School. Her love of art has been shared with many students through her work. In room 303 there are two wall size pieces of art. Marsha beautifully painted one wall with a village scene depicting a day in the life of Jesus. On the other wall is a mosaic that tells the Creation Story. These two pieces have been wonderful tools in teaching stories from the Bible to students of the Weekday School and our church.
Each Christmas, Marsha made the gifts that the teachers gave to the students. These clay ornaments are a keepsake that they will hang on Christmas trees for many years to come. Families will cherish the many pieces of pottery that she made with the students: Pumpkin Plates, Teddy Bears, Wind Chimes and Mother’s Day gifts to name just a few.
Thank you, Marsha for 13 wonderful years of loving the families of our Weekday School.
