Pastor Chris: Investing Wisely

Dear Smoke Rise Family,

As we approach the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015, we often take time to reflect on the past as we prepare for the future. As individuals, we prepare to make resolutions to eat a little less and exercise a little more. We want to do our best to learn from the past, so that our future will be brighter.

As a congregation, we can look at God’s work at Smoke Rise, celebrating new members and new ministries in the past year. We can resolve to continue to reach out to our community with God’s love, recognizing that the fields are ripe for harvest and our future is bright.

Financially, as we approach the end of 2014, we face a very real budget deficit. We want to be honest in our assessment. This situation is a serious concern, but not a crisis. Our response should not be motivated by fear, but rather by faith.

We all want to invest our time and money wisely in order to make a difference in our world. We all know that Smoke Rise has made a difference in our own lives. In this church, we find authentic relationships, excellent worship, meaningful ministry and opportunities to serve others.

As we approach the end of 2014, and reflect on God’s good work at Smoke Rise, please consider investing wisely and making a year-end gift to Smoke Rise Baptist Church. Gifts can be made through the church office or through our website at www.smokerisebaptist.org/giving.

Let us recommit ourselves to support God’s work at Smoke Rise in 2015 also with our time and our tithes.

May your Christmas be Merry and Meaningful. May your New Year be filled with Blessings.

In Christ,

Chris' Signature
