I love camp! It’s my favorite time of year. It is the one week out of the year that I get to take the children that I am in charge of ministering to and hang out with them. I get to hear what they worry about. I get to watch them get excited over winning a Gaga ball game or performing in the talent show. I get to see them process what it means to thoughtfully trust, to courageously believe and to faithfully follow with your whole heart.
And this year of PASSPORTkids! Camp was no different. The Bible study and worship leaders empowered our children to become stronger in their faith without pushing them places that they were not ready to go. It allowed them to experience hands on missions at their level of faith development. And it gave them the freedom to become the person that they want to be. The four days that I spent at PASSPORTkids! with 16 of our upper elementary students was an amazing experience. I am thankful for the parents that entrusted their children to my care and the church members that helped to fund the trip. And of course I’m thankful for the children that gave up four days of their summer to spend time with God and their church family.
